About the Registrar

Born on 20th August 1964 at Gombe, in Gombe State, Dr. Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto attended Mallam-Sidi Primary School (1972 – 1978) Government Secondary School, Nafada (1978- 1983) Bauchi College of Arts and Science, Bauchi (1983 – 85) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1985 – 1988) where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, ( BSc. Political Science) and the University of Abuja for his M.Sc. and Ph.D. (Political Economy and Development Studies) in 1997 and 2007 respectively. Dr. Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto Started his working career in 1990 at the Bauchi College of Arts and Science 1990 as Assistant Registrar and later joined the services of the University of Abuja as Administrative Assistant and rose steadily through the ranks to the post of Deputy Registrar in 2008. Dr. Bafeto has held various positions in the University system (Admissions officer, Academic Secretary, Establishment Officer, Public Relations Officer, etc, and Registrar). Dr. Bafeto was the Pioneer Registrar, Nigerian Institute of Mining and Geosciences (2008 – 2010), Pioneer Registrar, Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State ( 2011- 2016), and Pioneer Registrar, Admiralty University of Nigeria, Ibusa, Delta State (2018 – 2020). Dr. Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Council member, CLIS, Nafada (2018- 2021), Member, Gombe State education Committee (2012-2016), Member, Committee for the establishment of Gombe State University of Science and Technology (2016), Chairman PIC, for the establishment of Pen Resource University, Chairman, PIC for the proposed Dolphin-Maria University, Bauchi.
