ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

At the beginning of 2016/2017 session, the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Microbiology was split into two, as: i. Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology ii. Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology Forty six (46) 100L students registered in the Faculty to study Pharmacy for the 2016/2017 academic session, these students took basic science courses in the Faculty of science. Students start taking core pharmacy courses from 200 levels. Fifty one (51) 200 level, twenty five (25) 300 level and thirty (30) 400 level students took various courses at both the first and second semester of 2016/2017 session.

Our vision is to be recognized nationally and internationally as a center of excellence in Pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology as evident by our innovative work through training and research.

MISSION

To train undergraduate and postgraduate students with a fundamental understanding necessary for efficient design of dosage forms, formulation of medicines, and manufacturing on both small and large scale. To carry out innovative research in pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology for the improvement of drug delivery and pharmaceutical care.
