HISTORY

The Department of Medical Biochemistry was established in 2010 as part of the College of Medical Sciences Gombe State University to service the MBBS, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology and the B.Pharm students, with the pioneer HOD Prof Sani Ibrahim till 2017. After which Dr Fatima Umar Maigari was appointed the Head to date. The Department comprised of academic staff and Technologists of different cadre and specializations that were trained both nationally and internationally. The Department has well-equip laboratories for routine practical and research. Recently, the National Universities Commission approved the commencement of B.Sc Human Nutrition and Dietetics as a program in the Department. This new 4year program is expected to start in the 2024/2025 academic session
