The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Professor. Sani Ahmed Yauta was born in Malam Sidi village of Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State on the 10th of October 1976. He began his formal education at Zango Kanti Primary School, Jama'are in Bauchi State from 1981 to 1987, and proceeded to Government Teachers College, Jama'are, where he obtained his Grade II certificate in 1993. After that, he moved to Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Adamawa State, where he obtained his Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in Business Education in 1998. Thereafter, he went to the famous University of Abuja for his B. Sc. (Ed.) Economics and graduated in 2004. After his mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC) in Bomadi Local Government area of Delta State, Professor Sani proceeded to the University of Maiduguri and obtained his Master of Education degree in Educational Administration and Planning in 2012. Following his quest for more knowledge, the young Educationist and Administrator proceeded to the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he obtained his Ph.D. in 2015. However, in his pursuit to overcome the complexity and challenges of the digital world, he went and obtained a proficiency Certificate and later a Diploma in Computer Studies at British Informatics of Computer Technology, Colombo. Professor Sani began his academic career as a Graduate Assistant (GA) at Gombe State University in 2006, where he rose through the ranks to the current position of a Professor of Educational Management and Finance. Prof. Sani, was appointed as the pioneer Director, Directorate of General Studies, in 2016. In fulfillment of his educational profession, Prof. Sani is a registered and active member of many professional and learned societies, viz: Teachers' Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Nigeria Association of Educational Administrators and Planners (NAEAP) and West African Association of Educational Planners and Administrators (WAEPA). Fellow Chartered Institute of Administrators, Fellow Institutes of Corporate Administrators, Fellow institutes of Industrialist and corporate Administrators. In 2017, Professor Sani went to the College of Education, Billiri on secondment from Gombe State University after he was appointed as Deputy Provost of the College by the Executive Governor of Gombe State. He completed his secondment and returned back to Gombe State University in August 2021. After carefully assessing his outstanding performance, resilience and better service delivery, he was appointed immediately upon resumption as Deputy Dean, Faculty of Education and also the Head of the Department of Educational Foundations in the University. He has been effectively holding these positions until his nomination and election as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of the University. Professor Sani's Research Area is in Higher Educational Management and Finance. He is happy married to Bar. Fadimatu Sa’ad with four Children
