ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department is growing significantly with ten (10) permanent staff constituting six (6) teaching or research staff, one (1) administrative staff and three (3) laboratory technologist who are in charge of running the affairs of the research laboratories and Herbarium unit. The Department is presently housing over a hundred preserved plant families comprising of different genera and species as reference in its Herbarium section for our students and other students of the University particularly those from Department of Biological Science. The University financed both academic and non-academic staff to attend various conferences and workshop for their development. Some staff have completed their Ph.D. program while some are presently enrolled into various Masters and Ph.D programs. The Department will continue to do more and more vital efforts to staff and student success and will help more students to achieve their potentials of utilizing indigenous natural resources in the search for drugs.
