Newly Inaugurated Members of the Gombe State University Governing Council
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has Inaugurates a new Chairman, and Members of the Gombe State University Governing Council on the 20th February, 2025. This is in exercise of the powers conferred on the Governor by the Gombe State University Law, 2004 and in his capacity as the Visitor to the University.
The newly appointed Council will be led by Professor Baba Yusuf Abubakar, who serves as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman.
Others are: Professor Caleb Kudi, Professor Mairo Abdullahi, Barrister Moljengo M. Kaltungo, and Engineer Idris Abdullahi Kwami. Additionally, Alhaji Yambiu Idris Buba represents the Ministry of Higher Education and Alh. Muhammad Ismail Hinna, is the representative from the Ministry of Justice, while the National Universities Commission (NUC) is represented by Dr. Ayuba Mohammed.
Other members include the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Danladi Umar Mohammed. While members from the University Senate include Professor Muhammed Gurama Dukku, Professor Dahiru Inuwa Ibrahim, Dr. Aminu Umar Usman, and Dr. Umar Adamu. Others include Dr. Adamu Jibir, representing the University Convocation, and Mallam Musa Sarki, representing the University Congregation.
The Registrar of the University, Dr. Aliyu Abubakar Bafeto, is the Secretary of the Council.
