EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • I serve as Assistant Professor of Inorganic/Organometallics Chemistry Program in the Department of chemistry, Gombe state University Nigeria. I joined the faculty in fall 2007 and received Assistant professor in fall 2018. Like University Teaching Staff, I balance my teaching, research, and service commitments at levels commensurate with my position, which is 55% teaching, 35% research, and 10% service; I try to balance those percentages, to target “100% teaching, 100% research, and 100% service. Research Research comprises 35% of my appointment. I have published over 30 peer-reviewed papers in a variety of national and international outlets. In support of my research, I have garnered N2 million (naira) grants and contracts (N1.9 million /year), principally from Tertiary Education Trust Fund Nigeria (TEDFund). Broadly, I am interested in Inorganic Chemistry, especially Organometallics and general analytical Techniques. Although I am in to Catalysis and Nano chemistry, I also seek opportunities to explore fundamental Bioinorganic questions. These unions of applied and basic chemical research has allowed me to increase the scope of my research over time, while remaining invested in solving challenges faced by resources. Research Statement My research over the last seven years has focused on Synthesis involvement processes in Chemical Science. I view Applications of chemical science involvement as the work individuals and groups do on behalf of a collective good (e.g., Industrial, Pharmaceutical and Academic application) in the context of formal or semiformal organizations and networks. This concept is informed by literature on Inorganic, organometallics as well as General Analytical Techniques in Chemistry. Within this broad topic, I address three questions: a) How do simple chemical be transformed in to community benefit (Bio inorganic)1-3? b) How does Nanochemistry take effect in Environment4-7? c) What are the Metal oganic framework in Catalysis8?.
