The African Development Bank (AfDB) Coding for Employment (CfE) Virtual Graduation of Batch 1 Beneficiaries of GSU was successfully held on the 5th of August, 2020 using ZOOM meeting App.

The African Development Bank launched the Coding4Employment (CfE) program for African Youths in the month of May, 2016 with the intention of helping more than 9 million empowered Youths secure ICT-related jobs in Africa. Gombe State University was selected as the one of the first institutions to host the CfE program in Nigeria. On the 8th March 2019 there was a launching of the program to kick-off across the world which coincided with the International Womens’ Day 2019 day celebration. The AfDB in partnership with Gombe State University, Gombe State, McAnderson Institute of Technology (Abuja and UK), and Microsoft successfully trained 240 Beneficiaries and the graduation was held on the 05th August, 2020. The event was hosted by Ms Uyoyo Edosio, the AfDB Program Lead for Coding for Employment|Innovation Lab and Jobs for Youths in Africa African Development Bank Group (AfDB).
