Our Department is growing and we are now having over 16 staff – that is, 9 teaching or research staff and 1 administrative and 6 technical staff respectively. Amongst the new arrivals, we welcome in particular Prof. Umar Usman Pateh a sabbatical lecturer, from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His appointment is part of the staff strength of the Department.
The University financed both academic and non-academic staff to attend various conferences and workshop for their development. Some staff were also promoted during the period of the report.
Department will continue to do more and more vital efforts to staff and student success and will help more students to achieve their potentials.
To contribute in Human Capacity Building by Producing well Trained and Skillful manpower in the Area of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry.
Objectives of the Department
1. Provision of excellent teaching and research that will favorably meet the contemporary challenges in the health sector.
2. Promotion of entrepreneurship and trade in herbal medicine through regular and responsive program
3. Efficient and effective community service through awareness campaign on the uses and abuse of medicinal product.
